(Gelöst) Nivona CafeRomatica NICR 839 - no milk frother, only steam

While the milk frother problem is being looked at, maybe you can tell me if this amount of water in the used coffe beans container is intended?

It comes when the system starts and shuts down - the 'system rinse' procedure.

Could there be a leak? I see others asking the same in some of the other threads.

A few drops of water are quite common during the flush cycle but this seems to be a bit too much to me.

To solve your milk frother problem I recomment to order aside of the items suggested by sb_Nue this as well.

Is this because you still suspect there could be a crack in the part you link to? The fact that I'm currently are able to brew great cappucinos makes me wonder if it was 'only' a descaling that was needed. But I will continue to monitor.

Check the lip seal of the upper brewing piston.
If it has cracks or is very hard, replace it.

Thanks, I'll look at it - if it's bad, is there a replacement part here at komtra? Cannot seem to find it.

Nope, different problem.
The other thread is about a leakage above the upper brewing piston.

This is the correct lip seal: komtra.de/jura-ersatzteile/jur…-kolben-brueheinheit.html

But you maybe want to order a full set instead. Even if you don't need all parts now, you still have some spares. Just in case.

Would you mind linking to that set as well? I'm having trouble finding the correct parts for the 839, since for the Brüheinheit there are not these parts...

There are may different sets, but they can all be found under 839.

They are anyways the same for nearly all other Nivonas.

I'm asking because @sb_NUE mentioned 'Amidosulfonic acid' which I cannot find in the shop. There are numerous of entkalkers, so I'm sure he must be referring to something specific. As I also wrote earlier, Amidosulfonic acid is not that easy to find in Denmark, and if it's the "only one to be used", then I would like to get the right thing. Since shipping costs are high, I'm aiming to get the right one the first time. I hope that answers your question

So regarding the milk frother problem - it seems to have been resolved, thanks to the descaling procedure. So crossing my fingers, but it looks really good.
One thing though, the 839 uses much more milk at the same settings as the 831 model. If I set the Cappucino at the exact same settings for both units, the 839 uses roughly about twice as much milk. Maybe it's just something that we need to get used to. If you would like to see a video of the comparison, please let me know.

About the brewing unit, apparently they are identical between the 831 and 839 model, so I switched and it works. But I would still like to fix the other before selling it, so ordered some spare parts.
The Serial number written on the brewing unit (130314 on the 831 vs 060516 on the 319) - can I assume that the one on the 831 is actually newer than this one, assuming higher number means more recent unit? I would like to keep the newest one, and as noted above, the newer one is the one that does not leak.
