Jura Giga X8c Professional - Shocking multi valve block (solenoid) corrosion

    • Jura Giga X8c Professional - Shocking multi valve block (solenoid) corrosion

      Hersteller: Jura | Typ-/Modell: Giga X8c Professional | ca. Baujahr: 2017

Hi folks, did anyone experience something like this before?
This is the worst case of corrosion I ever seen on Jura machine.
Overall the machine looks great, 50K preparations but I did not expect to see this kind of damage inside.
Perhaps someone used something very corrosive to descale it?
      Very strange.
Replacement for these 4 solenoids costs close to 400 Euro (crazy considering each is worth about $25)
They still work, but the one just broke off.
I was considering replacing it with no name brand ( no stones from Jura purists please ) but I'm not sure how the left 2 actually work, :D
since one is capped on one side and the other next to it doesn't even have exit port. I thought they just joined 4 together,
but perhaps there is some bypass inside?

      Any ideas would be welcomed!

      Thanks

    • At the Jura X7 and X9 you also can see such corrosion at the valveblock.
Think about that in this machines there are 24V and not 230V valves!

The 4 valves seams to have one water support connected. Look at my
      fluid-plan at „Anleitungen von Nutzern“ valve F1 to F4:

      Hi BS!
Yes, I did test them with 24V DC bench power supply.
      Thanks for the link
Same crazy corrosion at the heat exchanger. :(

Do you think it would be possible to buy somewhere only the valve stems and recycle the Jura specific valve body that is made out of plastic? I never seen the Burkert brand here, is it common in Europe in other devices?

      Thanks

    • I don‘t know and can‘t help you because I never had a valve-block in my hands. So I can‘t say something helpful. I also saw pictures of Burkert valves but have only Ceme valves for myself.
I would like to note, that the rare 24V valves are much more expensive than the common 230V valves.

The damage at the heat exchanger is „normal“.

    • Well, it ain't pretty but it works again :)
I casted the whole valve body to epoxy and it's working great.
This is obviously the last possible solution since all coils and the body itself is one unit for ever,
but I refuse to pay the exorbitant cost they are asking for it.

Also discovered 2 additional problems in the spout.
One LED is dead, looking for 2 now or more since I have another machine that needs replacement.
Managed to source LED from someone but waiting for them to run test batch. Looks like white/amber is not very popular these days.
Also purchased couple from recycler but they got lost in the mail :(

Another problem is the gearing in the spout, someone lubricated the plastic and it completely disintegrated and it's soft like a rubber.
Frustrating, not sure where to get that :(

Won't even mention the typical problem with the spout cover, the chrome finish is peeling. Good thing that is available.
