Jura ENA Micro 1 - Leaking

    • Jura ENA Micro 1 - Leaking

      Hersteller: Jura | Typ-/Modell: ENA Micro 1 | ca. Baujahr: 2015

I repair a lot of Juras in the USA. The ENA MICRO is becoming a problem with intermittent leaking brewers. There are a LOT of forum postings here with the EXACT same ENA MICRO problem. The BREWER leaks near the drain valve plunger/ inlet, NEVER out the actual drain. I have disassembled the MICRO BREWER with this problem (wish I did not) and disassembled the drain valve and it looks FINE - the plunger is not cracked! All looks correct. It would seem to be a drain motor problem but that would cause a leak out the brewer drain but this does not happen! What can be causing this?

• Thank you! OK that is the LOWER piston I see is it the lower that is leaking? I have taken the plastic cap / top off, the gasket is right THERE and mine looks just FINE! I do not understand EXACTLY WHAT is leaking here? The sides of the piston walls are HARD DELRIN PLASTIC, this material does NOT wear!. Does anyone else have any further information on this?
ENA MICRO BREWER ungeklärte Leckage! Wer hat die Antwort darauf?

    • Believe it or not...
It seems there was a batch with faulty brewers which wear.
You can see the light shining through at the sides also with a new gasket!
Put your lower piston with a new gasket into your brewer cylinder down to the lowest position.
Block the inlet for the drain valve with your finger, blow with your mouth into the cylinder and try to hold the pressure.
    • Ok I looked at your photo again, NOW I see where the leak is. Very weird. The cylinder appears deformed /warped/ out of round at the bottom - not worn. This does NOT appear to be the problem I am having. I think mine is the drain motor. Difficult to diagnose . I am finding that the activating rod is extended at least 2.5cm after machine boots. This seems abnormal behavior.

    • my cylinder is not out of round... it has a bigger diameter than a new one!
The piston with the new gasket falls into it without any force.

you wrote " The BREWER leaks near the drain valve plunger/ inlet, NEVER out the actual drain."
So i don't think the drain motor is faulty. Otherwhise the water should come out of the drain valve.
