Hello Guten tag, we here in America have to deal occasionally with JURAS that have failed control boards. FRAGE: Can we substitute just the USA 120V CONTROL BOARD with European 220V? We need a frank opinion here from the JURA INTERNALS GURU.danke.

    • I think you there's a big chance that it will work in practice. But be aware that the current flowing some parts will be double, e.g. the
heating element of a 110V machine will draw a twice as large current as the 220V board is used to. So some parts on the board (e.g. a track fuse!) are not designed for that large current, e.g. some diodes on the board (for the motor) will be larger on a 110V board.
And the varistor on the board should be replaced for safety reasons for one with a lower voltage.

So.... if you want to do it safe, several parts on the 220V board will need to be replaced.

Generally speaking, it might be easier to repair the defective 110V board then :D

Matt, did you consider repairing those failed boards? They are fairly easy to work on.
