Jura Z5 Impressa - firmware bug or something triggering going to stand by

    • Jura Z5 Impressa - firmware bug or something triggering going to stand by

Hersteller: Jura | Typ-/Modell: Z5 Impressa | ca. Baujahr: Unbekannt

I had to recently use my z5 way more heavily than usual and noticed strange behavior.
Most of the times it's used to do milk based drink when turning it off while getting the prompt to clean the left spout
when you press the rinse button occasionally it will go to standby instead of flushing the system.
Same when steaming milk is used, it will start steaming and then go to standby.
If I immediately power it on again it will work like nothing happened.
It is rare but happens on a weekly basis.
Is this system fault protection, or possible firmware bug ?(

      Any ideas?

      thanks

    • I've had countless Z5s, but I've never had such an error.Would be interesting to know if changing the controls would fix it. Allegedly. The display should have nothing to do with it.

    • Unfortunately no idea.

It could be a board defect.

Thanks guys, strange, it's very rare ( happened only 4 times), first time I thought that I just pressed the wrong button but the last time I'm positive I pressed the steamed milk button. We do about 20 drinks a day on it so it's not bad for the fairly heavy use. Will see if it gets worse over time.
    • Happened twice yesterday evening so I couldn't resist to poke in it a bit.
It will happen only when steaming milk (both making drink or milk only)
I did recently change the thermistor on that boiler because it blown ( Error 4)
      Must be related.
Another observation is that the Cappuccino temperature is extremely hot, and if I change it in the menu the temperature will stay the same.
Any idea where to look for more clues? :)
    • Hello,

it may be that none of this fixes the error - but.

I don't trust that NTC one single millimeter...
      - The cable is twisted at the beginning,
      - It seems like the cable is pieced under the hose.
I would take a new one - and no hose etc. - just as originally.

Then I would derust the connection of the powercable thst
      is seen in the forground.

Finally, I would replace the junky 1-ear clamp with a original
clamp (this has shurely nothing to do with the problem - but
      it looks horrible...)

Will try all those tips, thank you!
The oetiker clamp will has to stay since that hose has thicker walls than the original hose and the original clamp will not fit.

      Inside diameter is the same.
