Jura S9 One Touch Impressa - Moisture in the boiler drip tray?

    • Jura S9 One Touch Impressa - Moisture in the boiler drip tray?

      Hersteller: Jura | Typ-/Modell: S9 One Touch Impressa | ca. Baujahr: 2016

Once in the while I noticed that there is moisture in the drip tray pan under the boilers.
Looks like it's concentrating under the ceramic valve since that's the only part in contact with the tray.
Is there any scenario when there could be moisture in that area?

      Thanks

    • The black caps OF THE S9OT doesn´t crack very often.
But if its broken, its irrelevant how often this may happen.

In many cases the problem are the fabric hoses.
Perhaps you coult have a look with a dentist mirror.

The dentist mirror is great idea!

    • If it is not from the hoses, it is bad.
Could be you need a new ceramic valve.
You can disasseble it and mount with
      a new form-seal and hope…

    • Yes, the valve is the same…

      But take NEW fabric hoses.
If you don‘t have some, Try to get them.

Jura is telling that this are „one-way-hoses“
and must be changed eyery time disassembling.

Will have to order the hose.

Strange thing that this morning, several shots brewed, no leaking whatsoever.
Will have to try all valve positions to see if it happens only for certain mode.
That would help narrowing the problem down.
    • Look If there are traces of lime or water within the bracing bars
of the black housing of the valve, or only outside where the hoses
      are mounted.

    • Look whether the Water drops behause
of defective hoses. The fabric hoses often
get leaky between the lays in the area of
      the fabric.

The inner part of the hose breaks and the
water drips along the fabric to the hose-end.
The outer part still looks quite good, but the
      hose is faulty.

In this case of defective hoses the black cap
of the valve keeps dry in the inner area.
If there is humidity you will need a new valve.

    • Just to update, confirmed bad head on the valve.
Swapped the ceramic valve to Z5 and I can see how it bleeds from the body casting.
Why they make it so cheap is beyond me, they charge arm and leg for these machines here.
      New head ordered.
Getting seriously wired from all the coffee testing :)
Also discovered problem on the Z5 but will ask in new thread about it.
    • More question about changing the ceramic valve head.
How much torque you guys apply to those 2 screws holding the black plastic head to the plastic body?
Still can't believe how cheaply the whole thing is made. Aluminum casting would be piece of art and permanent :)
Also seen some posts asking about reinforcing the cast is self, and I believe you all said it's a waste of time.
I have some 3M 5200 permanent marine adhesive that is suitable for underwater use and it never failed me
doing work on my fishing boat. Anyone tried that?
It will take some time for me to get the parts so I'm tempted to experiment :)
    • Hello,

fulfilling the valve-head with UHU ENDFEST 300
worked by me with the Z5 valve-head.
      I don‘t know your adhesive.

You can‘t take aluminium for the valve-head.
It costs much to much steamtemperature and
alu is also not optimal because of descaling
      and pitting.
