Jura Giga 5 - Jura Giga screen polishing after shipping damage? Spraying or wrapping alu parts?
BeitragZitat von BlackSheep: „Don‘t try something with the skin of the acrylic. Only try to polish it… but also this could cause additional damage… “ I'll try the polishing first first. Did you ever seen one with the protective film peeled off?

Jura Giga 5 - Jura Giga screen polishing after shipping damage? Spraying or wrapping alu parts?
BeitragZitat von BlackSheep: „You are developing into a GIGA specialist. There comes one after the other I try to treat display damage like this with acrylic glass polish - it's a very time-consuming process - but it usually gets better. The problem with the rotary boxes is that they have a “protective layer” over the actual acrylic (or is it multi-layered?) How this will behave in the end is therefore even less predictable. If the anodized layer of the ALU has become so rotten in the dishwasher, you c…

Jura Giga 5 - Jura Giga screen polishing after shipping damage? Spraying or wrapping alu parts?
BeitragHersteller: Jura | Typ-/Modell: Giga 5 | ca. Baujahr: 2015 Recently I had device shipped to me and it was very poorly packaged The screen was rubbing on something in the package and now looks like this komtra.de/forum/index.php/Attachment/19654/ Anyone tried to polish this plastic with success? If yes, what did you use? Also like to know if it would be better to refinish the scratched aluminum by spraying or wrap it like a car with PPF film? Some people are not users but abusers Probably dishwas…

Zitat von BlackSheep: „Zitat von Lifeisfun: „And those 2 LEDs are just pressed into the black plastic ? “ I don't know because I've never had to change one.But for such purposes I have a defective complete unit (fabric tape torn and missing) that I can try around with. I play around with it to practice when I need to do something on the unit. Zitat von Lifeisfun: „You Europeans are so lucky to get recycled parts so easy! “ But only via eBay or a single, special (unfortunately very unreliable) de…

The 4 screws on the back are not enough. Zitat von BlackSheep: „There are 2 additional screws from behind. To open this the whole coffee spout unit has to be removed from the machine and has nearly completely disassembled (also the sliding fabric etc. has to be removed) to get to the 2 screws. “ Wow, I'm glad I didn't use brute force! And those 2 LEDs are just pressed into the black plastic ? Thank you!

Zitat von BlackSheep: „ It looks like you have enough knowledge of electronics. Can you please send a picture showing the replaced part on the board? “ As marked in the picture by Tobias.L that's the right capacitor Zitat von Tobias.L: „komtra.de/forum/index.php/Attachment/19645/ The marked Capacitor has 10uF the other ones have 100uF. I try to test the displays, measure the voltage at the 7805 regular. At one J5 Display the input and output voltage was ok, I soldered every via but it …

Hallo Roland! Hi Roland! I would really appreciate if you can give me some advice based on your experience. Did you figure out the pinout for the display module. I would like to test it using bench power supply but can't find any info abou…

Zitat von BlackSheep: „Zitat von Lifeisfun: „Will see if I can get it working again “ If you are experienced enough with soldering and it only concerns the corroded plate vias often mentioned by RolandM, this can work. RolandM has apparently done this successfully several times for J9 display modules that have shown a comparable problem. But it doesn't always seem to work... “ It did clean up to perfection, I took it under a microscope and there is no damage to the board. Unfortunately problem p…

Thanks BS! In that case it's not worth it, I'll keep it for parts, not to mention Jura Canada would not touch machine not purchased in Canada. I'm tempted to try connecting another display unit from working machine but would hate to "fry it" as well. I will probably open the display unit and see what's happening inside. It's unfortunate there is no connector on it so you have to unplug it from the main board and pull the cable all the way back. I guess there is a way to repair them since someone…

Hersteller: Jura | Typ-/Modell: Giga 5 | ca. Baujahr: 2014 My Giga 5 repair moved step forward, but not the right way Managed to fix the main power switch, the machine will now turn ON (you can hear the relay click) The Red LED in the circle dial will start slowly blinking for about 20 seconds then the relay will switch OFF again. No display whatsoever. If I turn the power OFF and ON again this sequence repeats itself. It's unfortunate since otherwise the machine looks good, except some genius g…

Hersteller: Jura | Typ-/Modell: Giga 5 | ca. Baujahr: 2014 EDIT: Got it, top and bottom clips Another puzzle You Europeans sure know how to create puzzles when designing stuff! I got bad main power switch in Giga 5, took the power block out but can't figure out how to remove the power connector/switch from it. Don't see any retaining clips, nothing. I presume BS to the rescue? Thanks komtra.de/forum/index.php/Attachment/19633/ Mechanische Kenntnisse vorhanden: JA | Elektrische Kentnisse vorhande…

Zitat von BlackSheep: „The milk-hose is original and has no cracks or cuts? “ Yes, all brand new. Strangely enough those big bubbles start developing right after the frothing ends. Not enough protein in the milk? I don't know. Most of the foam disappears within 5 minutes

Zitat von BlackSheep: „ “ Thanks B.S.! I'll start with the orings and will see if that helps.

Hersteller: Jura | Typ-/Modell: Giga X8c Professional | ca. Baujahr: 2016 I got in x8c machine that suddenly started to make poor microfoam. The froth is full of large bubbles. Ordered complete new frother and exactly the same thing is happening. Where would you look now to solve this problem? What is the size of those 2 orings where the frother is attached? Is it possible that it takes some air in that area? Ideas? Thanks! Mechanische Kenntnisse vorhanden: JA | Elektrische Kentnisse vorhanden: …

Jura Giga X8c Professional - Hissing sound after the brew cycle, similar to dripp style coffee maker
BeitragSo, I couldn't resist and took it apart again... The regulator in the machine does absolutely nothing, I screwed it in and out both ways and it did not change the problem one bit. I suspect it's faulty. Strangely enough the part is not even available on Komtra or I just could not find it.

Jura Giga X8c Professional - Hissing sound after the brew cycle, similar to dripp style coffee maker
BeitragZitat von BlackSheep: „Zitat von Lifeisfun: „Do you think the pressure reducer works differently than that? “ Sorry - I never have a machine with fix water in my hands. So I don't know the parts built in and also don't know what function seems to be correct or not... I think you shouldn't guess you should measure. Have in your mind that the fuc*** Sysko pumps let pass water even with a relatively low pressure… “ I'm surprised that it didn't leak before the Sysko pump let the water to go in. From…
